What will you do for your gamer?

No trip to NYC is complete without a visit to Nintendo NY (formerly Nintendo World). We had no idea that it had closed for remodeling and reopened the same day we wanted to go (2/19). We arrived around 2pm and there was a line around the entire block (starting at the store entrance on W 48th street at Rockefeller Plaza, all along 6th Ave, and back up W 49th street to 5th Ave!!!). If you don't know NYC, you will have to take my word for it that it was a loooonngggg line! I am thankful that my gamer did not want to wait, but did deal with a down and disappointed young man for the rest of the day. We woke up early Saturday morning so that we could get to the store well before the 9am opening. We arrived at about 8:20 and joined the line of other kids and parents who had experienced the same situation as us the previous day. While the kids got street passes and talked game, the parents exchanged pleasantries about our kid's gaming habits. We got in to the store right away and the kiddo got his free swag (a Splatoon poster, a lanyard, and a Smash Bros drink koozie). I had a very happy boy on Saturday who was "totally geeking out!" The things we do for our gamer's, right parents?!?!?
